According to the public relations office of University of Science and Technology of Mazandaran, a celebration for the new academic year 2024 and Mazandaran National Day was held on Tuesday, November 4, 2024, at the Martyr Ayatollah Raeisi Hall. The event was attended by officials, faculty members, and students.
During the ceremony, Dr. Rabani,The University president, welcomed the new students and wished them success. He stated that being admitted to the university is a milestone in their lives and added that the primary goal of the university is to train skilled and specialized human resources to play an effective and beneficial role in society. He emphasized the short duration of the university period and advised students to enhance their life skills and social connections by engaging in university activities, especially through student organizations and associations.
Dr. Rabani highlighted some of the country's progress since the Islamic Revolution, noting that despite the enemies' efforts to eliminate science and religion from academic environments, they have not succeeded. He expressed hope that with the presence of the young student generation, Iran will soon emerge as a superpower in various scientific fields.
Dr. Rabani concluded by mentioning some of the university's advancements, including the significant growth of young faculty members, the addition of new disciplines at the graduate level, and the ample industrial capacities in the eastern region of Mazandaran. He expressed hope that students would take advantage of the planned programs in the faculties and the cultural capacities of the Leadership Institution, the Cultural Affairs Office, and student organizations to achieve rapid growth and success both academically and spiritually.
In another part of the ceremony, Hojatoleslam Heidari, the head of the Supreme Leader's Office at the university, congratulated the new students. He referenced a saying from Imam Ali (a.s.): "Knowledge is the commander and wealth is commanded" (Hekmat 147, Nahj al-Balagha). He advised students to strengthen two factors for success: self-confidence and faith in God. He mentioned that self-confidence has already been demonstrated by their success in the entrance exams, but they must continue on this path as they are at the beginning. Strengthening self-confidence leads to innovation, creativity, and invention. The second factor, faith in God, is so important that with divine guidance, one can push the boundaries of knowledge and achieve great success.
It is worth noting that in other parts of the program, hosted by the talented TV and Radio presenter Rahman Ghadami from Mazandaran, top students of the university entrance exam 2024 were honored, and in celebration of Mazandaran National Day, traditional local music, the university anthem, and video clips introducing notable figures and achievements of Mazandaran province were presented to the new students.
